Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Sale Temporarily Prohibited In Europe

After drawing the first blood in Australia, Apple have managed to gain another advantage in their global patent battle against Samsung by repeating the same feat in Europe. The Regional Court of Dusseldoff in Germany have just granted Apple a preliminary injunction that prohibited Samsung to marketing and selling the new Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet throughout the region. The injunction, however, does not apply to Netherlands due to a separate court case.

While the tablet was yet to be released in Australia when the court decided to go with Apple’s side of the story, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet is already available in UK since last week. Hence, Samsung are now forced to retract the device from shelves all over UK and even though the Korean electronic giant is eligible for appeal, the ban will still stand while they are waiting for the next court appearance which usually takes around one month.

There is certainly no doubt that the court decision is going to the disrupt Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 sales and marketing flow in that region. In addition to that, we can’t help but to wonder how this new development is going to affect other pending court cases between Apple and Samsung. It’s beginning to look that Apple really have a strong case this time around.
