iOS 4.1 Security Flaw Makes Tweetjacking You That Much Easier

Think you’re safe from tweetjackers, social engineers and prying spouses when you slap a passcode lock on your iPhone? Think again. A Brazilian fellow has found out how to input a “magic” series of button presses on a passcode screen to gain access to the device’s contacts, voicemail, call history, voice control and phone features.

The security hole is prevalent on phones running iOS 4.1 and will work on all iPhones, right down to the 3G (as the 2G doesn’t run iOS 4.1). I know this may sound pretty scary, but I’m sure Apple is cooking up a fix as we speak for the next software update. Also, the attacker/jealous spouse/potential tweetjacker will have to have access to your phone, so what better way to keep your phone safe than to keep it on you at all times? There, problem solved!
