Toshiba’s Own Android Tablet: The Folio 100

Samsung Galaxy Tab might have grabbed all the limelight during IFA 2010 but apparently, it was not the only Android tablet around at the show. Toshiba actually brought one for display too – the Folio 100, which is expected to arrive in Europe, Middle East and Africa sometime in the fourth quarter of this year.

Similar to Samsung’s tablet, the Folio 100 ran on Android 2.2 but it has a bigger screen at 10.1-inch, together with an NVIDIA Tegra 2 at its processor. The rest of the hardware are pretty standard such as 1.3-megapixel webcam, two USB ports, and SD card reader, a mini-HDMI connector, Bluetooth connectivity and 16GB build-in memory. Toshiba also equipped the tablet with a battery that the company claimed can last up to seven hours.

To be available in 3G and non-3G edition, they will carry a price tag of RM 2,003 (EU 499) and RM 1,601 (EU 399) respectively. Since the announcement didn’t list down Asia as its release region, I doubt that Folio will make its way here to Malaysia. Officially, at least.
